SBSO Board of Directors

A Message from the Board President...

Welcome and thank you for joining us for the South Bend Symphony Orchestra’s historic 85th season.  Since 1932, the SBSO has been one of our area’s flagship cultural institutions.  We are honored to continue the tradition of sharing the performance of world-class orchestral music, a timeless repertoire, internationally renowned musical talents, and our very own SBSO’s accomplished and gifted musicians.

This season marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our orchestra and community as we welcome our first new Music Director in nearly three decades.  After an extensive search process that attracted top talent from around the globe, we are thrilled to have Maestro Alastair Willis atop our podium.  This season he will lead our exceptional musicians in diverse programming that will appeal to music lovers of all ages and backgrounds.

At a time when many orchestras around the country are struggling, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra is flourishing.  We are proud to be part of a community that both values and generously supports the arts.  Our sustained growth in attendance and financial support ensures a strong and viable organization that will enhance the culture of our region for years to come.

Of course, none of this is possible without you. Your patronage and generosity enable our orchestra to continue to provide outstanding orchestral music to our community.  On behalf of our dedicated staff, talented musicians, and passionate Board of Directors, I would like to thank you, our loyal sponsors, donors, and patrons for your continued support.

We hope that you enjoy this performance and return with your friends, family, and colleagues for many more to come!
