On Saturday, December 17 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morris Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra will perform its sparkling Home for the Holidays concerts.  The program is filled with familiar holiday tunes featuring special collaborations with soprano Jessica McCormack, the South Bend Festival Chorus, Southold Dance Theatre, and the Holiday Bell Choir.

Conductor Laureate Tsung Yeh returns to South Bend to lead the Symphony for the first time since his retirement.  In his first appearance as Conductor Laureate, Maestro Yeh will lead a festive program that includes personally selected works celebrating the holiday season and showcase the talents of our Symphony and guest artists.  This festive program includes selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet, Morden’s Ukranian Bell Carol, Yon’s Gesu Bambino, Christmas on Broadway, Sleigh Ride, and Handel’s famous “Hallelujah” from The Messiah.  The crowd-favorite Holly Jolly Sing-Along is also on the program!

The Sunday matinee performance will include some special pre-concert family-friendly activities including instrument petting zoo and a variety of holiday arts and crafts, perfect for children of all ages.  There will also be an opportunity to get a photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

The concert is made possible by the generosity of the Concert Co-Sponsors Crowe Horwath LLP, Teacher’s Credit Union, and Saint Joseph Health System and Guest Artist Underwriter Stanz Foodservice, Inc.

Tickets start at only $16 and are on sale at The Morris Box Office, by phone at 574-235-9190 or online at www.MorrisCenter.org.  The Morris Box Office is open Monday – Friday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Tickets can also be purchased at Hammes Bookstore/Eddy Street Commons, O’Brien Recreation Center and TG Music in Goshen.  Tickets for full-time students are always $8 with photo ID.
